  • 29/3/11 - SRA writes to SLC Executive Secretary complaining about the way complaints are delt with by the council, in particular the issue re works in front of Sliema Police station and Sqaq Sajjan shoddy works.
  • 30/3/11 - Acknowledgement rom SLC of most recent e-mail, however stating that SLC does not ignore complaints and acknowedges correspondences within thesame day. The Executive Secretary justifies inconvenience to locals whenever works are being conducted.
  • 31/3/11 - in SRA's reply to theSLC's Executive Secretary,SRAcontested the issue mentioned that correspondences are acknowledged by SLC on the day with examples. SRA acknowledges that inconvenience can be inevitable during works, however not at the expense of the local's health and safety. in addition to the e-mail SRA proposed a new layout for the area just in front of the police station.  Click here to view.

  • 31/3/11 SRA send email to all councilors re the issue requesting acknowledgement and feed back. SLC acknowledges e-mail

  • SRA laments with SLC about the lack of acknowledgment to previous e-mail, with the exception of the latter one which was done after contacting by telephone. SRA also complains about the way police cars are being parked in the area in front of the police station. On one occasion, there were three police vehicles parked in the area, leaving no space for passage of pushchairs and wheelchairs. Furthermore, on the same occasion, a police vehicle was parked within the allowable 4m distance from Manuel Dimech Street zebra crossing.

  • 5/4/11 - latter correspondence acknowledged by SLC. Complaint re police cars to be forwarded to Assistant Commissioner of Police

  • 5/4/11 - SRA acknowledges with thanks the hasty installation of railing in front of the police station which is meant to keep a clearance for pedestrians. However, SRA notes that these were installed on the wrong side so that passersby would need to cross over the police parking area in order access the passage.
