- The lack of sufficient parking for residents, visitors, workers and deliveries
- Chronic congestion on the roads and minor streets during peak hours
- Toxic fumes from traffic that choke pedestrians and permeate homes
- 'Accident black spots' at certain junctions where speed bumps are required - UPDATE several new 'sleeping policemen' were installed in February 2010
- Speeding traffic on the arterial roads (particularly the Strand and the Front)
- Inappropriate allocation of traffic warden efforts (no enforcement at night)
- Noisy revellers and drunken behaviour in some areas especially during the summer
- Cluttered streets due to placement of street furniture or restaurant tables
- A lack of ramps at the kerb to allow the passage of prams or wheelchairs
- Broken pavements resulting from construction traffic and trenching
- Derelict properties, neglected public areas and dangerous building sites
- Illicit developments (made either without planning permission or not according to approved plans)
- Noise, dust and vibration from building works (often outside permitted hours)
- Cranes, trucks, cement mixers, skips obstructing roads and pavements
- Lack of safety precautions for overhead construction
- Litter and 'dog dirt' on the streets
- Rubbish collection times which are impractical for working people to observe
- Lack of, and abuse of, reserved parking spaces
- Absence of life rings, rescue ropes or exit steps on Sliema Creek promenade
- Vandalism and graffiti
